Species description
Saltwing are long-winged coastal fenborn with specialized nasal glands that expel concentrated salt. They can drink seawater during long flights and nest on narrow ledges inaccessible to most terrestrial predators.
Field note
Their nesting colonies transport marine nutrients onto barren cliffs through discarded prey and guano. Bright rooftop lighting disorients juveniles during their first night flights into coastal cities.
