Fenborn & the Keeper bond
The Collegium’s public description of mutual attunement between a Keeper and a fenborn creature.
Fenborn appear most reliably where Currents overlap strongly enough to shape living bodies. A stable Keeper bond is a mutual attunement: intention can be shared, but neither participant loses a separate will.

Registry custody can be transferred on paper. Attunement cannot. A frightened creature may tolerate handling without accepting a Keeper, and an old bond may remain emotionally significant long after lawful custody has changed.
How familiarity shows
Keepers usually notice a bond first through ordinary behavior: easier recovery after stress, voluntary proximity, clearer warning signals, and a willingness to work through unfamiliar environments together. Strong bonds are less theatrical than popular arena stories suggest.
Forced attunement
Attempts to manufacture attunement through restraint, suppression, or Current manipulation are associated with injury, unstable behavior, and the historical abuses of the Quiet Chain. Modern sanctuary practice treats consent and recovery as separate from custody paperwork.
