First Reed Sanctuary
First Reed Sanctuary’s practical steward, remembered as much by creatures as by Keepers.
Senna Vale is her Registry name. Around First Reed she is Reed, and the shortened name fits the way she works: plain, local, hard to uproot. She runs the sanctuary floor without turning care into ceremony.
First Reed knows her
Reed remembers which recovery rooms echo, which bells frighten which species, and which Keepers need instructions stated once rather than softened three times. She keeps brass room keys on her coat and still wears the faded green route scarf from her years running flood corridors.
The Lantern Breach
She was a flood-route runner before an emergency intake during the Lantern Breach kept her at the sanctuary for six days without going home. When the crisis ended she stayed. Older staff still describe this as though First Reed adopted her rather than the reverse.
A pattern in surrender
Reed has noticed unrelated surrendered creatures arriving with the same kind of damaged Registry seal. She does not call it a conspiracy. She does keep every broken seal in a labeled drawer.
