Species description
Reedjaw are low-slung amphibious fenborn with broad crushing jaws and a reinforced chest used to force paths through dense reeds. They feed on shellfish, tough marsh plants, and carrion rather than actively hunting large prey.
Field note
Reedjaw trails become narrow drainage runs during seasonal floods, creating oxygenated pockets where juvenile fish and amphibians survive. Illegal baiting operations sometimes kill adults because their jaw plates are falsely marketed as strength charms.
