The Still Tide
In Year 0 A.S., rivers stopped in their beds. Rain hung in the air. Waterwheels froze beneath full force. Nine minutes later the basin moved again, carrying changes no surviving witness could explain.
Accepted record
Independent civic, mill, ferry, and household records agree on the duration closely enough that the nine-minute interval is treated as fact. They also record new channels, fused glass, persistent shadows, altered wildlife, and local clock drift immediately afterward.
Disputed points
The Collegium maintains three serious schools of explanation: an older system was exposed, a boundary between physical states was damaged, or the basin itself changed in a way ordinary matter cannot describe. None has displaced the others.
Present consequence
Starfall Crown still changes in patterns that resemble the earliest post-Stillness reports. Similar, smaller irregularities continue to appear in weather, creature behavior, and the high-valley clocks.
